Sanshiro Sugata (姿三四郎, Sugata Sanshirō, aka Judo Saga)

This Akira Kurosawa film depicts the early life of Sanshiro Sugata, one of the pioneers in development of the martial art known as Judo in the late 19th century. Judo one of the first of the Asian martial arts to be introduced in the west. The film also offers fascinating glimpses of Japan in the throes of modernization and westernization.
Language is japanese with english Subtitles.

BBC Karate Documentary

Part of the "Way of the Warrior" (Not the one of Discovery channel, but the old one of BBC). The series was an 8 part documentary made in 1983 and featured several different Martial Arts. This part deals with Goju Ryu Karate featuring Higaonna Sensei.
